Father Anastasios Hallas
Fr. Anastasios Hallas was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut Fr. Anastasios attended regularly and assisted the Clergy in the Altar from a young age. After graduating from High School in Trumbull, Connecticut, he attended the Connecticut Culinary Institute. Upon graduation, he worked in several well-known high-end restaurants in the Greater Bridgeport area serving as Executive Pastry Chef and Executive Chef
In 2001, he followed in the steps of his father (electrician) and Uncle Andy (construction) and established T.H. Home Improvement. Fr. Anastasios also felt a desire to assist others, so in 2013 he volunteered for the Town of Stratford EMS Department serving as an Emergency Medical Responder and member of the EMS Honor Guard.
While continuing his work as a self-employed contractor, Fr. Anastasios felt a call by God and enrolled in the Diaconate Program at Hellenic College Holy Cross in Brookline, Massachusetts, completing the program in 2018. He was ordained a deacon in 2019 by Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey and assisted at Holy Trinity Church in Bridgeport, CT. During this time, he began studies for full-time enrollment at Holy Cross in the Master of Divinity program. He completed his studies while continuing his work as a contractor.
During this time, he continued to volunteer at his home parish, assisting in the liturgical services and leading ministry groups. Additionally, he was appointed as the Regional Leader for the Diaconate program for the Direct Archdiocesan District and guided young men studying to serve the Church. In 2022 he was assigned to assist the parish of Saint Barbara in Orange, CT, until his ordination to the Priesthood on December 4, 2024, by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. He is married to his Sophia and have two adult children.
