The Ladies Philoptochos Society, Inc. is the philanthropic arm of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America that has offered 90 years of philanthropy through a multitude of programs that make a difference in the lives of people in the United States and throughout the world. Philoptochos’ mission is to “help the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, those with disabilities and the victims of disasters.”
Come join us! We are a dynamic army of women of all ages, who provide comfort and support for our Orthodox family, our neighbors, and our community at large. We are over 200 members strong – all supporting those in need. There is a project for everyone in Philoptochos, whether it is helping with the local soup kitchen, dress for success, families in need, scholarships for our youth or children in distress. Our efforts are local, national and international.
Our local chapter at Saint Mark has over 200 Members and has over $65,000 in annual philanthropic outreach to our community, nation and the greater Orthodox world. As His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros stated at the National Convention in July 2020, “The accomplishments of Philoptochos are everywhere throughout our church. At the National, Metropolis and Parish Levels you have truly been champion ‘Marthas’ for the sake of our community. Your legacy is as deep as any in the Church.”
Join us to become part of something that brings comfort and assistance to so many in our community. Meetings are the second Monday of each month, 6:30 PM in the Saint Mark Fellowship Hall (September to May).
