Holy Thursday Morning - The Vesperal Liturgy of the Last Supper

April 16, 2020 | Fr. Alex Kamilaris
The Divine Liturgy is celebrated on Holy Thursday morning to remember the Last Supper, where Christ prepared a table in the Upper Room for His Disciples. This was a meal like no other. The Lord gathered his disciples and offered them his loving words of guidance as he prepared them for His upcoming crucifixion, and gave them the Sacrament of Life when he instituted the Holy Eucharist. Jesus Christ offers to His disciples:

“Take, eat, this is my Body which is Broken for you,
for the remission of sins.”

“Drink of this all of you this is my Blood of the New Covenant which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins.”
