Our Saint Mark Church in Boca Raton, has embarked on a divine mission inspired by love and faith. Working with OCMC (Orthodox Christian Mission Center), we are building a sister church in the beautiful landscapes of Kenya (Diocese of Eldoret), under Bishop Neofitos. This opportunity arose late last year, and after prayer and discussion, we decided to do something extraordinary. The total project will cost $100,00, and we have already sent half of these funds. Over the next few months, our Church and Philoptochos will be holding various fundraisers to help raise the additional funds needed.
The endeavor is more than bricks and mortar; it is a testament to the transformative power of community and devotion. The spirit of our Saint Mark Family is resonating in every donation and echoed in the collaborative efforts with OCMC.
As construction progresses, the bond between the two communities deepens. Prayers crossed oceans, and hopes transcended borders. This project is more than a physical structure—it symbolizes unity in love, a testament to the universality of faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We invite all of our faithful to participate in this wonderful outreach, with an anticipated completion date in the Summer. The single most important resource we can offer during this project is our prayers, our being lifted up in union with our Kenyan brothers and sisters, expressing our deep gratitude to our Lord for His blessings in our lives.
