Father Mark Leondis, Pastor

Fr. Mark is the Pastor of Saint Mark Greek Orthodox Church in Boca Raton, Florida, since June, 2011. Prior to his appointment, he served as the National Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America from 2000-2011 and from 1995-2000 as the Metropolis of Denver Youth Director. He was born in New York and grew up in New Jersey. He graduated from Hellenic College in 1992 with a BA in Religious Studies and from Holy Cross in 1995 with a Master of Divinity. Fr. Mark pursued additional graduate and doctoral studies in Youth Ministry and Christian Leadership-Organizational Development at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and Fuller Theological Seminary.

Fr. Mark served as an Adjunct Instructor in Religious Education at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary in Scarsdale, NY, from 2002-2006 and served for ten years (2003-20011) as Chairman of the Board for Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), and is currently serves as a board member. He has served parishes in Colorado and New Jersey. He is married with two children and resides in Boca Raton, Florida.

Father Steven Klund, Assistant

Fr. Steven is the Assistant Priest at Saint Mark Greek Orthodox Church in Boca Raton, Florida, since June, 2013. Prior to his assighment, he was studying at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 2013. Fr. Streven grew up in Charlotte, NC, at Saint Nektarios Church, where his family was very acive in all parish ministires. He graduated from East Carolina University in 2008, with a BFA in Graphic Design with a Minor in Art History. Fr. Steven is married to Presbytera Nicole, and together have been active in camping ministries of our Archdiocese. Together they served on the Staff of Ionian Village and the Metropolis of Atlanta summer camp, Saint Stephens. Father Steven was ordained to Diaconate by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios on January 1, 2013 and to the Priesthood by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios on June 30, 2013.

Father Alexander G. Leondis

Father Alexander was born in New York City. He graduated Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology with a Master of Divinity degree in 1960, and pursued further graduate studies at Halki Theological School in Turkey and Saint Vladimir's Seminary. Ordained in 1964, he was assigned as the Assistant Priest at the Boston Cathedral, served the Saint Sophia Church in Albany and the Holy Trinity Church in Westfield, NJ, for over 22 years. He as served as the Chancellor of the Archdiocese, as well as Director of Stewardship and Pastoral Resources. He served as the Chancellor of the Metropolis of New Jersey from 1999-2003, prior to his retirement. He is married to Presbytera Mary and together they now reside in Boca Raton, Florida.

Deacon John Christakis, MD

Deacon John was born in New York City and grew up in New Jersey. He has been practicing Internal Medicine in Boca Raton for over 30 years. He is married to Diakonissa Stephanie and together they have 12 children. Prior to his ordination, Dn. John served the Saint Mark parish in many capacities: Parish Council President and long time member, Building Committee, Acolyte Director, Religious Education, and much more. He was ordained by Metropolitan Alexios in the Spring of 2006 and has been serving the Metropolis and Saint Mark ever since. Deacon John is a long-time member of OCAMPR (The Orthodox Christian Association of Medicine, Psychology and Religion) and serves as a Board member for OCMC (The Orthodox Christian Mission Center).
